    It’s interesting to see that so many people want to be *personally* anonymous on the internet – but don’t really want anyone *else* to be. Users see a ton of value in searching for information on individuals, many of whom the don’t know (social networks are built around the idea!), but want to personally opt out from the same.

    Personally, I think “online privacy” debates like these are ultimately obsolete. They bargain of trading data for free services has largely been decided. My view on the same: http://www.bullishdata.com/2014/07/07/online-privacy-obsolete/
