Buffer wants to make your content discovery and sharing routine dead simple with Daily by Buffer, officially released today in the iOS app store.

The free app strips the process down to basics, serving a full screen view of one story at a time and giving you three choices: Click a button to read the content, swipe left to dismiss, swipe right to transfer it to your Buffer queue for later social media posting.

It’s something of a hot-or-not process, and Buffer head of content marketing Courtney Seiter said some beta testers have been calling the app Tinder for Content.

“The idea originated from a change we’ve been noticing in how people use social media,” Seiter wrote in an email. “It’s clear to almost everyone how powerful social media can be, but finding a way to unearth unique, relevant stuff to share from the universe of content that’s out there is still super hard. Daily is our approach to try and help with that — and make it a little fun, too.”

The content recommendations, drawn from topics such as social media, marketing, inspiration, business and startups, lifehacking and design, are curated by Buffer’s content marketing team. The recommendations are also available on the company’s web and standard app versions, just not in the simplified format.

If you select a post to share, it’s placed directly in the queue for the social media account you have selected — Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ pages are supported with Facebook coming soon — and put on the clock. If you want to change the language of the message or adjust the time of posting, you have to call up your queue on the standard iOS Buffer app or web dashboard.
