Square Passes One Million Active Merchants

square-logo Square, the mobile payment processing service founded by Twitter's Jack Dorsey, has passed the one million merchant mark. Square launched in early 2010 and offers merchants free hardware that allows them to accept payments on iPhones, iPads and Android devices. Square currently charges merchants 2.75% per transaction. 52% Of Sharing Happens On Facebook; Google +1 Has Plateaued, AddThis Says

facebook-like-featured Fifty-two percent of all sharing online happens on Facebook, about four times more than Twitter's 13.5 percent. And Google +1 sharing "has plateaued." That's according to sharing platform AddThis, which shared its 2011 Sharing Trends today. The numbers are interesting. Facebook, as you'd expect, owns the lion's share of sharing with 52.1 percent. Twitter represents only 13.5 percent of sharing on the web, but that's a whopping 577 percent (yes, five hundred seventy-seven) higher than a year ago. Report: Facebook Planning Push Into Mobile Ads

Bloomberg cites two sources "with knowledge of the matter." Lengthy Official Google+ Survey Tests Users Knowledge On Features & Privacy

Tablets Gaining, Check-Ins Confusing To Many Survey Finds

JiWire delivers advertising to thousands of public Wi-Fi locations in numerous countries. Its survey samples are typically 1,000 to 2,000 consumers. The Q3 data (drawn mainly from US and UK users) show the dramatic growth of tablets and a range of other attitudes and behaviors.
