In this post, I'll touch on a basic way to look at those CLV numbers in AdWords for those conversions you are currently monitoring: number of purchases, newsletters sign-ups, downloads, or any other proxy metrics. Mobile Anchor Ads Now Rolling Out For Google AdSense Publishers

Google AdSense Mobile Anchor Ads Google is introducing  mobile anchor ads for AdSense publishers to help monetize mobile traffic. The ads are 320x50 banners that appear at the bottom of a users' smartphone screen. The ads remain anchored as the user scrolls up or down. Rather than clicking an "X" icon in the upper right corner as with most other mobile anchor banners, users dismiss the AdSense ads by swiping left or right on the ad. There are arrow icons on either side of the ad, but it's unclear how intuitive it will be for users to swipe if they want to remove an ad. If users do dismiss an ad, it won't appear again u [...]

Your Homepage Is THE Landing Page

zendesk Your homepage is probably the most visited page on your website -- in fact, for the majority of websites, it typically receives more than 50% of all visitor traffic. In light of that, shouldn't it be converting more visitors? You may want to start thinking of your homepage more like a landing page that is uniquely designed to convince visitors that you can meet their needs or solve their problems. If your homepage isn't driving visitors to take some type of an action -- especially if it has a high bounce rate -- then it can be improved to drive more sales. Microsoft’s Scroogled Campaign Hits New Low, Uses “Pawn Stars” Guys To Attack Chromebooks

scroogled-pawn-stars-featured "Wow. How sad." That was my reaction to watching the latest in Microsoft's Scroogled campaign against Google, this time using two of the stars from Pawn Stars to attack Chromebooks as not "real laptops" and part of Google's overall plan to "Scroogle" people. I'm struggling to understand how the geniuses behind the Scroogled campaign thought going after Chromebooks as somehow Google misleading people was a great idea. But to me -- and I'm a big Pawn Stars fan -- it comes off as weak and even desperate. "It's Pretty Much A Brick" The video features a woman who walks into the Gold & Silv [...]
