Stock Price Be Damned! Facebook Is Top Company On ‘Best Places To Work 2013′ List

facebook-logo-squareNevermind the underperforming stock price. Facebook employees are still happy enough to have voted the company the top place to work in 2013 in Glassdoor’s fifth-annual Employees’ Choice Awards.

Overall, Facebook scored a 4.7 rating (on a 1-5 scale) and CEO Mark Zuckerberg got a 99 percent approval rating from his employees.

This is the second time Facebook has come out on top of the list. It was number one on the 2011 list, then fell to third overall on the 2012 list, which was published late last year.

Numerous tech companies scored well in the Glassdoor survey. Google ranked sixth overall with a 4.3 score, and third among tech companies. LinkedIn was fifth on the tech list, and 14th overall. Here’s a Glassdoor chart showing the top 10 tech companies.

Facebook’s 4.7 score is up from 4.3 a year ago, while Google’s 4.3 is up from 4.0. Zuckerberg’s approval rating jumped from 89 percent last year to the 99 percent figure that I mentioned above.

The company’s stock price has started to rebound in the past month, but is still well below it’s opening price of $38 per share.

Glassdoor, a jobs and career-related website, invites users to complete surveys about the places they work, with questions focusing on factors such as compensation/benefits, career opportunities, work/life balance and more. This year’s results are compiled from responses submitted between November 24, 2011 and November 13, 2012.
