instagram-logo-200pxFacebook has confirmed that Emily White, its Mobile Partnerships Director, is moving to a new role overseeing business development at Instagram.

Her new title is Director of Business Operations, and White has already begun the transition to Instagram’s team.

The news was first reported by AllThingsD.com, which also reported this statement from Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom:

I’m excited to bring Emily White onto the Instagram team. As we continue to scale our operation to support over 100 million active users, her experience with partnerships and business operations will play a major role in our future success.

White has been with Facebook since September 2010, and prior to that held a couple different business- and sales-related positions at Google, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Instagram recently passed the 100 million user mark, and brands are reportedly increasing their Instagram use, as well.

Facebook executives have promised that the company will eventually monetize the growing traffic and usage on Instagram. It looks like White will be tasked with delivering on that promise.
