Advertisers have flocked to Facebook Ads due to the massive amount of targeting options offered. In the next few weeks, each user will be able to see how and why they've been targeted, pulling back the curtain on why they are seeing each ad: Users will have the option to respond to the ad with the following old choices: I don't want to [...]

Reach & Frequency Capping Along With Video View Targeting Arrive For Facebook Ads

Facebook Now Selling Premium Video Ads In Select International Markets

divergent Facebook's auto-play video ads are going international. The social network announced today that it will start selling "Premium Video Ads" in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom. But not just to anyone. In keeping with its slow-play plan when it launched the product in the United States in March, Facebook said will offer the ads to a limited group of advertisers. The 15-second ads play automatically -- and soundlessly until clicked upon -- in users' news feeds on the network, and Facebook is moving slowly, being careful not to inundate users with t [...]

So when Facebook said yesterday that its new Nearby Friends feature isn't being used to target location-based advertising begged the question of when it would flip the switch. Today, we're no closer to the answer, but Josh Constine of TechCrunch got explicit confirmation that it is o [...]
