Google Helpouts: Answers Meets Knol Meets Hangouts

The first time Google tried to operate an expert network was Google Answers, which eventually got killed by free services such as Yahoo Answers. Google’s New Virtual Helping Hand, ‘Helpouts,’ Now Taking Applications

Helpouts The first official instance of Google's new video help service, Helpouts, has been released. Helpouts will allow for users to pay for a specific time frame of video consulting from willing Helpout helpers. While it is just a simple landing page with the opportunity for users to sign-up for a registration, it's the images included that do the talking. The new landing page highlights the opportunities of Helpout. From bike repair to yoga or cooking users in a bind can quickly choose to ask an expert and pay for that time.
