IAB Study: Ad-Supported Internet Responsible For 5.1 Million U.S. Jobs

Survey: Only 40 Percent Of Marketers Are Using Google+, But Many Plan To Change That

google-plus-red-128 Marketers have been slow to adopt Google+, with only 40 percent currently using it, but many say they want to learn more about it and plan to increase their use of Google's incipient social network. Pew Survey: 68% View Targeted Ads Negatively; 59% Have Noticed Targeting

But a new survey finds, perhaps unsurprisingly, that nearly three-quarters of those asked dislike such targeting. And people do notice -- nearly two-thirds report experiencing being targeted by ads. Typosquatters Target Apple, Google & Facebook More Than Twitter, Microsoft

typosquat-domain Apple, Google and Facebook are preferred targets of domain typosquatters more so than competitors like Twitter and Microsoft. That's according to a new study from internet security company Sophos, which also found that there's not as much danger in typosquatted domains as you might think -- just a lot of URLs using Google to make a dime. Survey: Most US And UK Marketers Just Beginning To Adopt Social Media

IAB And PwC: U.S. Internet Advertising Revenues Up 22% In Q3

Quarterly ad revenue since 1999; dollar figures are rounded. (via IAB) U.S. Internet ad revenues in the third quarter grew 22% over the same period in 2010, rising to $7.88 billion, according to the latest report by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PwC). The figures even showed a 2.7% rise over the second quarter of 2011, which was itself a record-setting period, according to the IAB.
