Omnicom & Publicis Merger Dead: CEOs Blame Differences In Opinions & Cultures

Levy and Wren Reuters reported this morning that the merger between Omnicom and Publicis is off the table. Originally announced in July, the Omnicom-Publicis deal would have resulted in the largest advertising agency in the world, with Publicis CEO Maurice Levy claiming at the time, "This is a new company for a new world." Apparently neither of the agency CEOs were ready for a new world. In the Reuters report, Levy said he disagreed with Omnicom's desire to appoint their own staff to lead executive roles. "Omnicom wanted their people to fill the CEO, CFO and general counsel jobs," Levy told Reuters [...]

Marin Software Names David A. Yovanno As CEO, Reports Q1 Revenue Up 33 Percent

Marin Software logo Today, Marin Software announced David A. Yovanno will be filling the CEO role being vacated by founder Chris Lien, who will assume the role of Executive Chairman. The company also released its first quarter earnings report for 2014, showing revenues increased 33 percent to $22.8 million, up from $17.2 million the previous year. Lien founded Marin in 2006. Top eBay Affiliate Sentenced To 5 Months In Prison For Wire Fraud

ebay-logo-240px eBay's top-earning affiliate, Shawn Hogan, has been sentenced to five months in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of wire fraud, Business Insider reported this morning. Hogan must pay a fine of $25,000 and will remain on supervised release for three years after his prison term is completed.
