What Images Get Pinned On Pinterest? Red Beats Blue, Portrait Over Landscape & Lose The Faces

pinterest-logo According to visual analytics and marketing platform Curalate, brand images on Pinterest are 23 percent more likely to receive a repin if the image does not contain a face. Using custom algorithms to evaluate more than 500,000 Pinterest images, Curalate researched how an image's visual characteristics influence social media activity. Examining 30 different visual characteristics, including color, texture, lightness and saturation, the study found that images with lots of color are preferred, while red, orange and brown images are twice as likely to be repinned over blue pictures. Study: 76% Of Executives Believe CEOs Should Be Utilizing Social Media Channels

social-media-network-people According to a recent study conducted by public relations firm Weber Shandwick, 76 percent of executives believe it is a good idea for CEOs to participate on social media networks. Of the executives working for CEOs who use social media, 67 percent believe that it is a good use of their CEO's time. Budweiser & Neft Drove 83% Of All Alcohol-Related Social Video Ad Shares In Q1

While social video shares in the alcohol industry jumped 1,593% in Q1 versus Q4 2012, just four ads drove 97% of video sharing among alcohol advertisers in Q1 2013, with the top two accounting for a whopping 83% of all shares. Brands Wanting More Leverage On Pinterest Should Follow The Lead Of Better Homes & Gardens

Study: Mobile Users & Older Generations Are Driving Social Media Growth Around The World

social-media-network-people A new GlobalWebIndex study analyzing international social media behavior revealed that mobile use and older Internet users are driving growth for Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Study: 39% Of Americans Took Part in Political Or Social Activity During The 2012 Campaign

Political-Engagement During the 2012 it may have felt like 100% of the people you saw on Twitter and Facebook featured politically-oriented content the the actual number was far less. A new Pew Internet study shows that 39%  of adults took part in some form of political activity on  a social network. The majority of the activity came in the form of liking or sharing political material (23% of all adults polled). Study: 27% Of Time Online In The US Is Spent On Social Networking

Time-Spent-Online We know that social media is an important part of many people's lives, but it is also a lengthy portion, as well. Experian Marketing Services released a study showing that in the United States, 16 minutes out of every hour online was spent on social networking and forums, roughly 27% of all time spent on personal computers. Rich Get Richer: Study Finds The More Content Is Liked, The More It’s Likely To Be Shared

Out of 629 participants, 374 were given a survey asking how likely they were to read an article on Facebook that already had 451 Likes. Google Closing Social Login Gap With Facebook

Q1-2013-Social-Login-Trend Facebook has been the dominant source of social logins, but Google is closing the gap and now accounts for more than one-third of all social logins. Twitter Logo A huge percentage of TV watchers (as much as 80 percent) are now on a "second screen" during a program, though they may not necessarily be engaged in a "social conversation" about the show they are watching. Twitter Likes Promoted Tweet Results, Pushes Brand Surveys Out of Beta
