Pinterest Dominates Social Referrals, But Facebook Drives Higher Performance [Study]

A new study by Yieldbot, which sees over a 1.5 billion page views per month come through its publisher analytics platform, looks at the impact of social referral traffic on the advertising performance of women's sites. Social Analysis Firm DataShift Lands Real-Time Tumblr Data Stream

DataSift Tumblr has been making quite a few tactical  maneuvers since being purchased by Yahoo! in May. Today they've solidified a deal with DataShift, a data analysis & analytics company. DataSift users will now have access to the full Tumblr firehose of 5.5 billion global interactions. Marketers will be able to use this Thumblr data to view industry insights, brand knowledge and audience information. Study: How Big Brands Are Using Tumblr

tumbler While Tumblr now has over 100 million blogs, it is still the most overlooked social media network for brands. Currently, only 31% of the top 100 brands have adopted a Tumblr account. Social media analytics and reporting platform Simply Measured performed a study showing just how these top brands were performing and some of the tactics employed. Tumblr Expands Sponsored Posts To Desktops

Tumblr is bringing its sponsored posts to the Web. This does not signal a big change in strategy nor a sign of Yahoo's new power over the blogging site since acquiring it for $1.1 billion nearly two weeks ago. Pew: 94% Of Teenagers Use Facebook, Have 425 Facebook Friends, But Twitter & Instagram Adoption Way Up

Yahoo Buys Tumblr For $1.1 Billion, Promises “Not To Screw It Up”

What’s Tumblr Worth To Yahoo? Board Says $1.1 Billion.

Kara Swisher from AllThingsD said the deal was a "foregone conclusion and was an unanimous vote" by Yahoo's board. They plan to announce the deal tomorrow, Monday, morning. Tumblr Mobile Sponsored Post GE Tumblr launched mobile ads today with high-profile advertisers including GE, Warner Bros and ABC.
