Twitter Tests A Super Simple Video Sharing Feature For iOS

A new test spotted by Peter Kafka at re/code found the ability for iOS users to include pre-selected video clips if they were using hashtags around the upcoming movie "A Million Ways To Die In The West." If a user enters (or begins to enter) the hashtag of the movie name, they are provided video clips form the official movie account @AMillionWays. If the users select the clip then can quickly watch it and "attach" to their Tweet. Twitter Is Testing A Way To Encourage More Video Sharing

The test -- first reported by Peter Kafka in re/code and apparently limited to the Twitter iOS app -- prompts users to post a trailer clip from Seth McFarland's upcoming "A Million Ways to Die in the West" movie when they start typing in the hashtag, "#AMillion ..." Star This Study: Data Uncovers The Rationale Behind Tweet Favoriting

twitter-logo-600 A study from Advancement of Artificial Intelligence this year took on the task of figuring out how and why Twitter users interact with the favorite function. It turns out that there are more uses than you may think. There were 10 main types of favoriting actions that were identified -- showing that the little star button is more versatile than marketers likely suspected.
