    This is incredibly useful information. At street level very few SMB’s understand their analytics. They’re not likely to set this up themselves but if they have a consultant or webmaster on the clock this is a no-brainer.

    I’ve implemented Ed’s dashboard myself and look through the advanced segment creation with RegEx. I find it really useful especially for those who wants to determine the real value of local directory listings.

    FYI Everyone – Google Analytics has just changed how you build custom segments and “metro” doesn’t seem to be available anymore. I’d go with “city” or “region” if you can and add as many different cities as you can to cover your area. I’ve asked them to fix this but haven’t heard back.
