Just love the analytics! We’re using Oktpost (http://www.oktopost.com) to measure our social media campaigns. It provides CTR and conversion rates.

Of course it is important to measure the value of a social media campaign, but I think that is is difficult to fully measure a social media campaign on these metrics as they relate to direct marketing or paid search marketing. Also the figures for the cost to acquire a fan cannot be used across the board; every business will be completely different and it will depend to a large extend on the depth that the business has integrated social media into their business and their website/s. I read a good post analysing the Old Spice campaign which raised a few points on how the engagement was measured at the same time as managing to increase sales by 106% – http://www.mywebpresenters.com/articles/2012/01/look-at-your-viral-video-now-look-back-at-mine/
