ComScore released US November smartphone metrics today. The company says smartphone penetration in the US is 63.8 percent. By comparison Nielsen reports that it’s 65 percent.

As it has been for many months running, Apple remains the top individual smartphone OEM, followed by Samsung. All others, however, lost some share. Yet these numbers don’t include the holiday period. We’ll probably have to wait for late February or March to see those.

November smartphone share

Apple controlled 41.2 percent of the US smartphone market according to comScore, representing growth of 0.5 percent since last month. That’s also the iPhone’s OS share. Android had 51.9 percent, up three points since last month.

November OS share

All but Android and Apple lost ground. Windows Phone’s market share is flat, after seeing modest growth over the past six months in the US. In Europe Nokia’s Windows Phones are selling fairly well in a number of countries.

ComScore also reported the top mobile websites and apps in the US market for November. Google remained the top mobile website with 87 percent audience reach, while Facebook continues to be the top mobile app.

The top 15 apps and sites are mostly unchanged from last month. However, Pandora has moved into the number two app position just after Facebook. Last month it was number four.
