Mobile Referrals & Demographic Data Now Available On Facebook Insights

Facebook continues to beef up page analytics (or Facebook Insights) with the addition of mobile reporting for apps.  Earlier this month, Facebook upped Insights reporting to occur in real-time and new in-depth mobile reporting will continue to grow the service.  For full mobile data click on the “Mobile” link under the Traffic tab:

Not only can mobile now be tracked, but it can be tracked in-depth.  Many different elements of mobile referrals are tracked including demographics, source types and device types.  The mobile source reporting includes the following data points:

  • Feed referrals
  • Timeline referrals
  • Notification referrals
  • Bookmark referrals
  • Search referrals
  • Unknown referrals

Demographic information includes age ranges, language and gender (along with percentages of each.)  Device type data also allows Admins to discover which mobile platform is the most popular along with visit data for each:

For more information, click on the “Mobile” tab in your Facebook Insigihts page, or head over to the Facebook Developers blog.
