Even the White House can’t escape the Pinterest hype. On Saturday the White House officially joined Pinterest, and did so in fashion. Upon joining the ranks of the lay-pinners, the White House announced the “White House Social” on December 17th to kick-off their Pinterest presence.

On the White House officially states the following about the Social:

“To kick off our presence on Pinterest, we’re inviting our newest followers to join us for a Holiday Social at the White House. Pinners will be invited to check out the décor, meet with the people that helped transform the White House for the holidays, join us for a craft project — and share it all with their followers on Pinterest.”

The registration for the event has closed , but expect for a slew of presidential pins from the lucky few that will attend the event.

The Official White House page can be found at Pinterest.com/WhiteHouse44 (user Angie White has previously claimed the “WhiteHouse” handle). In a blog post, the White House stated that they will be sharing everything form inspiring images and quotes to infographics around key issues on the official Pinterest account.
