Facebook Ranked Comment Test Lets The Commenting Cream Rise To The Top

According to a Mashable report, Facebook is now testing a ranking system for displaying comments on fan pages. The change will allow the most engaging comments to show higher up for a post. This is a logical test that social sites like Reddit have implemented for years and what Facebook currently allows with comments for websites.

It’s being reported that rankings will take Likes, responses and hides into account for display. Again, this is quite similar to the current Comment plugin for site that states:

Social Relevance: Comments Box uses social signals to surface the highest quality comments for each user. Comments are ordered to show users the most relevant comments from friends, friends of friends, and the most liked or active discussion threads, while comments marked as spam are hidden from view.

Facebook told Mashable that the commenting system is currently a test and that “You will also be able to reply to individual comments as well as the original post.”‘ No date for universal implementation was given.
