McDonalds Corporation has decided to restyle their 51 year old mascot Ronald McDonald and give him access to the McDonald’s Twitter account. All you die-hard Ronald fans that love the iconic look can relax. The changes to the mascot themselves are quite simple.

The paratrooper jumpsuit has turned into quasi-human clothing including vests, jackets with the large clown shoes left untouched.  The facepaint, perfectly quaffed fire-hydrant red hear and color scheme are all staying intact.

In addition to the semi-modern update Ronald will be Tweeting through the @McDonalds account. Tweets from the colorful clown will include the #RonaldMcDonald hashtag instead of getting his own specific outlet for 140 character communication. So what should we expect from Ronald? According to the official release from the McDonalds website the mascot stated:

“Selfies …here I come! It’s a big world and now, wherever I go and whatever I do…I’m ready to show how fun can make great things happen”
