DataSiftTumblr has been making quite a few tactical  maneuvers since being purchased by Yahoo! in May. Today they’ve solidified a deal with DataShift, a data analysis & analytics company. DataSift users will now have access to the full Tumblr firehose of 5.5 billion global interactions.

Marketers will be able to use this Thumblr data to view industry insights, brand knowledge and audience information. DataSift pushed their Query Builder open source back in February, so Tumblr data should be available to the masses. Other DataSift sources include Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Bit.ly and more.

DataSift CEO, Rob Bailey, stated the following about the deal:

Tumblr is one of the fastest growing and more highly engaged social networks. Brands and agencies need a better solution to capture and capitalize on the platform’s tremendous stickiness, and the DataSift platform is the only one to make that possible today. By providing access to real time and historic Tumblr data, the DataSift platform further expands brands’ and agencies’ ability to distill actionable insight from their engagements with consumers.

While this is new for DataSift, this access isn’t unique. Other companies such as Gnip have also previously inked deals for Tumblr data. For for information see TechCrunch.
