Hiring a new grad can work in certain situations. However, the reality is that experience and deep understanding of the buying process, what the prospects want to hear and the detailed analysis of what is working, what’s not and why requires the direct involvement of a more senior, experienced resource. The C-Suite needs to value and invest appropriately.

I agree with Maureen… People fresh out of school may be savvy with understanding and navigating social media, but they don’t understand the other intangibles that professionals develop with experience, e.g. branding, product placement, B2B relationships, professional interaction, etc. While it can work out, just because someone knows how to engage on a personal level doesn’t make them a genius at the next level.

Oh I’ll be adding more on the subject in future articles. First step is to get people thinking about a concept and then lay the path before them

I’m seeing the tip of the iceberg starting to realize this, but far too many still hold on to the old way of thinking. This is especially true for those who don’t get out to conferences to discuss the changes with peers or even keep up with their reading.

I can’t tell you how many times at new clients that they keep telling me they’ve hired people to put in keywords in their websites and SEO doesn’t work. Do I need to say anything more?

What actually happened in the late 1990′s was that marketers hijacked the network that was originally established for the sharing of research documents. Three decades later, social media marketers are hijacking this same technology and calling it “electronic word-of-mouth marketing”. The only problem is that no one seems to know how to accurately measure results from a ROI perspective.

To achieve success in this dynamic environment of
technology, one needs to hire professional social media optimizer to attract more
customers unlike traditional marketing which approaches less people and is
    comparatively expensive.

I agree Jason but what measures can be introduced through casual work (Part-time) incentives???
