TweetDeck Adds Tweet Confirmation To Help Prevent Social Media Misfires
Optional extra step should help social media professionals avoid accidental tweets to the wrong account.
It’s a social media pro’s worst nightmare: posting a personal tweet on a brand account. It can be embarrassing and potentially career-threatening.
To guard against such errant tweets, TweetDeck added a safety net today, giving users the option to require a confirmation step before sending a tweet.
The feature, available to all TweetDeck users on web, Chrome, Windows and the latest Mac app, is enabled by clicking on the Accounts tab, selecting the account profile and activating the “Confirmation step” toggle. After that point, any tweet a user composes from TweetDeck won’t be sent unless the “Ready to Tweet?” check box is clicked.
It should come in handy for people juggling multiple accounts and also for people who want to force themselves to take a extra look at tweets — for spelling, grammar and taste — before hitting the send button.
New on TweetDeck! You can now add a confirmation step before Tweeting from any account. https://t.co/8eKB5u3yMh pic.twitter.com/HYc3Gq46SA
