GlassDoor Best Places to WorkGlassdoor has released its list of the 50 Best Places to Work, along with a list of the Top Tech Companies to Work for in 2014. According to the announcement, Twitter ranks high on both lists, voted No. 2 for the Best Places to Work overall, and No. 1 for top tech employers.

Among the 50 best places to work overall for companies with 1,000 or more employees, 22 are tech companies. Four of the tech companies on the list are making their first appearance this year, including Twitter’s high-ranking debut at No. 2.

For top tech employers, Twitter’s No 1. ranking is followed by Linkedin at No. 2 and Facebook at No. 3. This was Facebook’s first year since 2011 not ranking No. 1 on the list of Top Tech employers.

To compile its list, Glassdoor claims it relies, “Solely on the input of employees who elect to provide feedback about their job, work environment, and company via Glassdoor’s anonymous online company review survey.” The report includes comments from employees at the top ranking companies, like this one from a Program Manager at Facebook who wrote, “Excellent benefits and employee perks – onsite healthcare, chiropractor, acupuncture, gym and many others I haven’t tried out yet. Another huge bonus for me is the support I have here as a woman in the tech community, it’s pretty amazing.”

An account executive at Twitter commented that, “Twitter recruits the best talent in the business. The company genuinely wants to have a positive impact on the world. The core values are clear and every decision is held to the highest standards.”
