VIDEO + SLIDESHOW: The Coming Online Video Tsunami

In just three years, the number of online video viewers is expected to double to 1.5 billion. In addition to viewers on YouTube, Vine and other online aggregators, traditional publishers like the New York Times are allowing non-subscribers unlimited free access to video content.

With the proliferation of mobile devices and fast internet connections, video consumption is increasing at a rate faster than any other type of online content.

Savvy marketers are preparing now to ride and monetize this trend with increasingly innovative approaches to “capturing user eyeballs” and winning with social video advertising.

Video is the wave of the future AND presence. I’ve uploaded thousands of videos on multiple networks…now to get some eyeballs on them. Power post and super reminder. Thanks!

I recently started posting youtube videos for each product on my website. It takes time but some of the product pages are getting reduced bounce rates so far! I did the code to make youtube auto-play the clip (my videos have no sound so not annoying!) Although it doesn’t count towards a “view” it does force the customer to interact and view the product video which keeps them on the site longer if they are interested in the product. I keep my clips around 40 seconds.
