Weekly “Best Of Twitter” Digest Coming To Your Inbox

Today Twitter announced a weekly new feature that will help to keep users up to date with the most pertinent information, weekly “best-of” emails.  This weekly message will look similar to the new discover tab that was launched earlier this month.

The email message will highlight the most popular stories (and related tweets), the most engaging tweets from the week, similar to LinkedIn Network Updates and Quora digest. This announcement is no surprise as Twitter purchased Summify earlier this year.  Summify was the leading social news summary service and helped get the most engaging, relevant content from various networks in-front of users, much like this new feature.

The new email digests will roll out to everyone over the next few weeks.  To make sure you will receive this double-check that you have the “Product or service updates related to my Twitter account” box  checked in your Account Settings.

I don’t really think I would get much use of this, Twitter moves so fast that a weekly digest would almost be outdated.
