Yelp has updated and upgraded its Yelp for Business Owner’s mobile app — for both iOS and Android. The new version of the app adds two primary capabilities:

  • Upload photos from the app
  • Flag content or reviews that violate Yelp’s terms

The company says in a blog post encouraging business owners to add images to their profiles, “Consumers spend 2.5 times as much time on business pages with photos vs. those without.”

Yelp also provides a new way for business owners to get the company to review user-content (reviews, photos) that they believe is improper or in violation of its guidelines:

Flag reviews, messages and photos: If you believe a review, message or photo is in violation of our Terms of Service or Content Guidelines, you can now flag them directly through the mobile app for our support team to evaluate.

Business owners can now manage their Yelp accounts and see analytics, respond to reviews publicly or privately and manage photos entirely with the app. These expanded capabilities are a response to the busy, mobile-enabled lifestyle of small business owners.

The following video provides a tour and overview of the pre-update version of Yelp for Business Owners:
