Yosemite’s Popular Tweet & Facebook Post Invite Mac Users To Try Its “Natural Operating System”

Yosemite National Park, unmatched in natural beauty, can now claim a social media victory. Midway through today’s Apple WWDC keynote, which produced news that the company had settled on “Yosemite” as the name for the company’s updated operating system, the folks who know Yosemite best sent out this tweet:

It was in the moment, clever and funny, a textbook example of how to execute a newsjacking. The tweet quickly gained momentum and now has more than 4,500 retweets, 2,100 favorites and a long thread of appreciative replies. A few of the best:
